Properly celebrating Advent can be tough in a society that typically starts Christmasing around Thanksgiving and promptly ceases merriment on December 26th. One thing that has always been particularly bothersome to me is the general lack of Advent music. I’ve got an Advent playlist I add to every year, but this year I wanted to do something different. In honor of the birth of my Advent baby (due in a few days!) I recorded my own piano improvisations on some of my Advent favorites. Now, these recordings are completely unedited and quite rough– done with a handheld recorder in my living room, the occasional noises of children and clanking dishes included. I really just recorded for my family and especially for the new baby. But I figured I would share on my blog as well, in case anyone needs a little Advent inspiration!
